Thought for the Day Poem

This poem was first aired in 2006 on my erstwhile ‘Thought for day’ slot on Radio Suffolk. The cover art is a painting in 2024: the view looking up from swing bench in my back garden. Sunlight through Leaves.

  1. I enjoyed this Ant. A poet myself, I recognise that search for the inspiring thought or image which will spark a new piece of work. I like your use of rhyme and rhythm ( so often overlooked nowadays) and some of the images you find: the bank that loans out the ideas of Kant and Aristotle; ideas as children running wild ( some good, some bad, some probably indifferent). It’s a very hopeful piece, telling us to keep on believing, to keep on trying, and something will turn up. Thank you for that.
