Thanks for the good wishes. Our relationship with luck, chance and probability is complex. I think of the implausible story of a company that had some mission statements. Alongside the usual nonsense was: this company does not employ unlucky staff, so every alternate CV received is thrown in the bin. I believe that we can try to make our own luck by influencing some things and making sensible decisions, while recognising that many matters are outside our control. Trying to control the uncontrollable, or doing the wrong things because you think that everything is down to luck, will lead to disappointment. Be lucky, happy and healthy in 2026.
