As a fellow creative I can readily identify with the problems you raise here Ant. I very much agree with the point you make about discipline: it’s a paradox that the bird of creativity needs to have a rope of discipline and routine around its legs in order to stop it flying too far and getting lost.
I like the analogy with the money bank for memory – it keeps on giving despite frequent withdrawals ( until, perhaps, we reach our overdraft limit?)
I recommend a notebook to you! Always carry it, everywhere. When an idea or image comes, pen it down in this book. One day it will provide your inspiration.
