It was a good idea to use a story from far away this week. If you had not told us where it comes from, I think that I might have correctly guessed Japan, where the culture is often to take a longer-term view than in the West. It is a cautionary tale, but on the other hand one should sometimes try to change things for the better, rather than accepting the status quo.
