We are what we are

What else can I say?

  1. I am not surprised by your comments about your grandchildren. There are many people who make me happy. As an example, I can think of thoe who, when I phone (yes, I do that), always sound pleased to hear from me. Some people and organisations are toxic, and I try to avoid them, which is not always possible. It is too easy to explain poor behaviour in terms of people’s circumstances, or problems faced by an organisation, like the ubiquitous ‘staff shortages’. More often than not, the bad behaviour is just that. Sending people to jail is not about rehabilitation, which is more than unfortunate, but I am still disappointed by the ban on the book, which I have also read. Unless books in prison libraries actually encourage crime or terrorism, I do not agree with this sort of censorship.
